Creating Books

In order to begin creating anything you must first be registered and logged in to your account. If you attempt to create something without first logging in you will be taken to the login page. Once logged in you will be able to select book from the create drop down menu located on the nav bar at the top of every page. After selected the create book option you will move to a page titled 'Owned Books' where you can see all of the books you have created. Here you are able to create new books or edit existing ones.

Books are made up of several different components namely, pages, choices, fights, items and actions. These are explained in the following sections. In order for a book to be considered compelete every fight and choice must lead to a page. So endding pages must have no choices. If a book is not compelete it will not be visible to you or other players under the play tab.

Creating Pages

Creating pages entails filling out a few different sections. The only essential section is the page description, this is what is displayed to a player when they enter that page. You can add up to three choices to each page which then lead to further pages or fights.

Pages can also contain actions and items. Actions can alter the players stamina, skill or luck. The nature of the action can be choosen in the page creation form. The choosen action of a page will take affect as soon as a player enters that page. Pages can also contain items. Adding items to a page means that if a player enters that page the said item will be automatically added to their inventory.

Creating Choices

When creating pages you can also add up to three choices to each page. Choice must be given a description that the player can then read and decide as to which choice they would like to follow. Items can also be added to each choice. This means that in order for a player to select that choice they require the specific item. If they do not have that item they must make some other choice.

Choices can either lead to another page or to a fight. After creating a page you are taken to the page index where you can see the page you have created and the choices on that page. From this view you are then able to create either a destination page or a fight that the choice will lead to.

Items

Items can be found on pages which means they are added to a players inventory or used in order to make perticular choices which means they are removed form a players inventory. When creating items you are required to give them a name, description and a book. Items can only be associated with one book in order to add items to a page you must first create the item and add it to the book you wish to use it in. When creating items you can also mark wether it should be considered equipment. If it is mark as equipment then players will be able to begin the game with these items if they choose.

Creatures

Creating a creature is similar to creating an item as it must be associated with a book when it is created. Creatrues can also only be associated with one book. In oreder to create a creature you must choose its name, skill, stamina and its image. The stamina of the creature will determin how many times it must be attacked in order to be killed and the skill of the creature determines the chance that the player lands a strike or gets hit. The players skill is a determined by a dice roll plus 6 but can change through out the game. And the players stamina is 12 plus 2 dice rolls. Keep this in mind when creating creatures as making their skill higher than the players will make them very hard to beat.
